Previous Teaching Experience:
Teaching Assistant - Year 1 (Jan – July 2016)
- Taught phonics and guided reading to small groups.
- Took one on one intervention sessions with lower ability readers and with those that required improvement with their fine motor skills.
- Planned and delivered lessons for each ‘Wow Day’ (Continents and Oceans, Parks and Nature, Toys and Games).
- Took small groups on school trips to Manchester Art Gallery, Alexandra Park and Quarry Bank Mill.
- Ran Book Club (KS1), BMX Club (KS2 – off site) and Hockey Club (Y1 – Y3).
- Marked work using the ‘got it green/think pink’ system.
- Behaviour managed in accordance with the school’s behaviour policy (reminder/amber/red). This involved filling in ‘think sheets’ with children and speaking with their parents.
- Undertook four playground duties per week.
- Completed United Learning’s safeguarding training.

- Supported class teacher on school trip to Stockport Air Raid Shelter.
- Supported the school on an extra-curricular trip to take part in the DebateMate scheme.

- Designed and delivered ten weekly radio studies seminars for service users of mental health charity, culminating in a one-off radio show on a local station.
Theatre in Community (2007)
- Taught GCSE set text ‘Of Mice and Men’ to North Wales schools through Drama.

- Shadowed a year 4 teacher in a bi-lingual (Welsh and English) school.

Freelance Writer
- Created and wrote two BAFTA and BBC shortlisted children’s dramas.
- Self published an anthology of 75 children’s stories.
